Again getting lost
As if I had no memory
As if was awfully tired
To listen.
I never knew
And know one will know
Better than me
How to not know.
I am getting lost
And the grass grows
To the trees
Dark green-blue.
The branches
With owls grow
Grey peonies.
By owls this path
Is being guarded.

They meet me
As not a stranger.
As a memory.
I am getting lost
To where the green blue
Eyes and path
Are dreaming.
Water or air
Flows and fills up
As in an old pond
Or bucket…
I am being born
To the clearing of forest
Around me
At every step
There is a well
And a lost robe
Still warm with me.
Only the bottom of well
Remembers what’s happened,
A shivering body remembers
What will.
Cause everytime Eglė
Makes love to the Grass-snake*
Lost
To her home.

*This is an allusion to a Lithuanian mythological folk tale Eglė, the queen of serpents or Eglė, the queen of grass-snakes
